Though this is for anyone who faces depression, I can't really dedicate it to them because everyone has been sad before.
Sadness is a weird emotion. Apart from the obvious, it's different from happiness for a key reason. It's easier to remember a sad moment than a happy moment. I had a dog named Leo and it's easier to recall how disappointed I was when we gave him away rather than how content I was when he was there.
So before I turn this into a depressing story or article, let me tell you one thing. You cannot stay down in a boxing ring. You will always get back up for the fight.
This is a collab poem I wrote with Divya and it was awesome working with her. Hope you like it!

Sadness curls around your heart, You fight her in vain but all hope is lost. An infernal storm fires up inside, All your joy has been turned to dust.

Your soul has had too much to take, You see an array of decisions that you could make. The gloom settles in, the curtains long drawn, Everything pleasant se…

Moon of Miracle

Dedicated to Vidushi who's in India and Yadhavi and who is in California because they're both really sweet people and can make anyone smile :) xx
Remember when you were a child Young, naive and carefree Not caring what anyone thought As long as you were happy.

Then something came along, You fell and scraped an elbow As fast it came, the smile vanished And all you remembered was the sorrow.

Happiness is like a moon.

You see it now, You see it then, It disappears, It comes back again.

But just because we don’t see it, That doesn’t mean it’s disappeared It might be covered by the clouds But it always will be there.

Happiness will never leave Even if there’s a wave of grief But it can still be fleeting and fast, Just nurture it and make it last.

When you see the dazzling moon, Forget about the future and past

This is the prologue to a story that I've started working on :) Hope you enjoy! Dedicated to all my friends who definitely inspired the characters you'll meet in chapter 1.Chapter 1 will be published later.

The old woman refilled her cup of tea and smiled at the three boys, the wrinkles on her face showing age. It was their first day of fifth grade, and they had come back with excitement written all over their faces. She marvelled at how different the friends were from each other.

Her grandson or The Chief, as nicknamed by his friends, sat on the plush couch, his legs crossed. He was burly and large like his father, and always had a sullen, stubborn expression. He did not talk as much as the others, but with one look you could tell that he was a natural leader.

Next to him sat her grandson’s best friend Slash, the cheeky one of the group. He was the one with the best jokes, and the one who was the teacher’s favorite. With his brown hair and green eyes, Slash had a charming person…

A World of Wonder

Dedicated to anyone who wants to make the world a better place.

Sometimes I like to wonder,
How the world would be.
If the poor would have money,
And the blind were able to see.

The ones who were scared would never have a fear,
And the ones sad at heart would not shed a tear.
The ones who are at war would lay down their weapon,
and the ones filled with hatred would show some affection.

No one would be bullied, abused or even shoved,
The world would have nothing, but happiness and love.
A boy could like pink, if that’s what made him happy,
Religious beliefs and views would be accepted by society.

Everyone belongs, acceptance is a must,
All would be treated with some kindness and some just.
A world as great as this, seems too good to be true,
Because we have all experienced suffering,
But isn’t there anything we can do?

There's a soul in every body
That we're just yet to find.
But all we really need,
Is an open heart and mind.

Hey guys, it's Pratya!
You might or might not remember my old blog, in which I came up with short stories or poems using three words you gave to me.

I've been having my three words blog ever since I was six but now at thirteen, I want to break out of that shell and write differently about a variety of topics.
So it's not just a new design and everything. It's a little more than that.

This blog will have a random assortment of poems, stories and articles inspired by absolutely anything. I'd love to have feedback in the comments, and you may suggest a topic for me.
I'm going to start by just posting a few old poems and articles that I have written and then I'll be updating every weekend.

I hope you enjoy my blog! And always remember to smile :)

Link to my old blog in case you want to check it out (note that I've stopped posting on that blog) :

Also check out my best friend Divya's blog. She is awesome and an amazin…
